For starters that fee structure is way too confusing.
I didn't mind the one time sign up fee for AM. And I can see implementing a charge for ads to sell stuff - say $1/ad in groups of 5/10/15/etc. But if I have to pay to look at ads? Come on - ebay doesn't even do that. I'm not going to pay to look at ads and purchase - AM is not the only game in town.
