I have a 10" LX50. I recently purchased a forks/base with the DEC fix kit and the Magallen 2 already installed on them.

I would like the DEC kit and the Mag 2 on my telecope.

Should I replace my forks and realign my OTA on the "new forks" or should I keep my OTA on my original forks and remove the DEC fix kit and the Mag 2 off the new forks?

I would appreciate some input from more experienced astronomers who have had experience with aligning OTA and or installing the Mag 2 and the DEC fix kit. Which would you do and what are the pitfalls going to be?

I am so jealous, I went out numerous times over the last few nights hoping for a glimpse of the aurora. I am at 40* and no luck yet. It didn't help that we had a storm blow in yesterday and we had a cloud cover last night.
