M42 first time

Well, it's not as good as Klaus's but hey, I'm a rookie!

Nikon D70 through a Stellarvue 85s, 6x5 minutes, dark frame subtracted, stacked and combined using Images plus then Photoshop.

This was my first attempt at M31. Stellarvue 85mm using a Nikon D70. 5x5 minutes, ISO 800 stacked using Images Plus and Photoshop. I think it needs about twice the exposure time.

I took this one last year at Soccoro NM. 5x5 minutes f/6.9 ISO 800. Definitely needs more exposure time.

This was taken last year at Socorro, NM. with an Orion ST80 and Nikon D70 piggybacked on a 10" LX200 GPS. Not bad considering I paid $75.00 for the Orion. I haven't had a chance to image M8 with the new APO (thanks Klaus) because of the oppressive heat, and humidity so thick you can cut it like butter.

10X 8 Min. Darks subtracted in ImagesPLus, color corrected in Photoshop CS. JPEG only. I haven't had the time to do the RAW files yet.

Hi John,

Great M13 shot. I just bought a D70 about three weeks ago but I haven't got any clear skies...yet. M13 will probably be my first subject to shoot.
