Is a "baader contrast booster" a filter which reduces colourabberation in short refractors? I need a filter of that kind to reduce (if possible!) achromaticabberation in my f/5 refractor while saving $ for an apo

diagonal for OrionED80?

Hello!
Iam planning to buy an Orion ED80mm. A Im bit confused which diagonal to buy.I already have a Cave 8" and the Sky-Watcher ST80 end a set of 1.25" eyepieces.Any thoughts? Is really the 2" diagonal the way to go if you already have a set of 1,25" eyps?
Happy for avdvices. Thanks! My budget diagonalwise is max $100.

Which diagonal for the ED 80mm?

Planning to get an ED80. I only have 1,25" eyepieces. Will a 1,25" digonal be fine for this scope or must I get a 2" diagonal? Is there any advantage in using a 2" with 1,25" reducer over a plain 1,25 diagonal?
My max budget for a diagonal is $100.

AZ3/ED80

Will an AZ3 be ok with the ED80 for visual observing? I don`t want an EQ-mount because I think it`s too heavy and this will be my second scope intended as "grabandgo" combo.
Any other suggestions?

Hi All!
Does anyone on this forum know anything abouth the Company "World Optics"(Japan).I saw a refractor from that company for sale, it looks like a typicall -60 era f/15, 2,4". Is it a "department store" scope...or could it be anything "better"?

will my 90mm Synta Rings fit my orded WO ED80mm ota and will my Astrobaader Solarfilter which I use for my ST80 fit the WO; the OD on ST is 101mm.

Orion barlow Tri-Mag3X, just wondering

Has anyone here used the Tri.Mag Barlow?
I have very nice and sharp views with my C80ED and 9mm Antares Orhto+Intes 2,4X Barlow.Giving 160X and I feel I can go higher on those rare steady nights. I am very pleased with my 9mm ortho. Could Tri-Mag 3X +9mm ortho (200X) be a good combination?

Finderscopes

I have a Syntafinder 6X30. it has an aperture stop, so I would estimate it to a 10-15mm. Why is this so, I mean the 30mm lens is there, why not make use of it`s full aperture.
Had a closer look at my 8X50mm finder (Japan) which sits on my Cave 8" from -73. Same thing there; aperture stop so I think the finder is working at 30mm!
Has anyone out there an explenation?
