regarding renewal of memberships

Posted By Fred Kopp

What is still not clear to me is what happens if someone decides not to renew their membership when it comes due. Perhaps they don't want to buy or sell anything and so do not need to logon. So will their account disappear or will they be able to renew after a few months of inactivity. Obviously if their account is gone, then they could re-register. There are a number of people who have said they will go away so they may want to know what will happen to their accounts. Starting over means no track record for buying and selling. My record is very short because I seldom buy or sell anything.

New membership policy.

I think that the Astromart Terms of Agreement page almost certainly would have indicated that the terms could be modified at any time by the owners of Astromart. I think what you paid in 2009 was a one time charge to become an Astromart user. Astromart has tried a number of things to increase voluntary support but most users are not contributing much in the way of support. So now there is an annual fee to be a user. My understanding is that you can probably delay your annual renewal for a period of time if you don't need to use Astromart for some purpose. 8)

My letter is up and....

If you can log in and don't end up on a webpage asking for payment your probably OK. However $15 support is good for only one month of highlighted advertisements.

Lifetime Support for all long time Supporters...

Posted By Fred Kopp

I don't know exactly what Astromart's administration does with a "lifetime support" but in general the money should be invested in a way to provide continuous income for some long term. Other support amounts are used for operational needs as they come in and is not invested.

Changing an ad

Posted By Fred Kopp

If you open the ad in My Classifieds then you should see an edit in the bars above the ad. That will allow you to edit the ad. I am not sure if there may be a 24 hour delay before you can do that though.

Need new Astromart Classifieds category

Posted By Fred Kopp

I see what you mean by all the announcements but at the top of the page right under the search for line is a photo, type, title ....
If you simply click on the type you will move all the announcements to the bottom and all of the wanted, for sale are then at the top. This works login or not. I discovered this when I tried to sort out how to "filter".

Auction payment terms

Posted By Fred Kopp

The seller is the one who gets paid. The terms are arranged with the seller. At times Anacortes has sold some items for a seller or estate so then they become the seller who gets paid. Usually Astromart is not the seller and does not get involved in payment. International transactions are probably easiest handled through PayPal, but shipping and Customs may be somewhat more difficult. The U. S. Postal system works well if items are not too big. This is probably a lot more information than you asked for.

Site Display Load Times

Posted By Fred Kopp

I have an iMac (unix operating sys) and Safari. I recently replaced my aging cable modem (outdated/not supported) with one supported by the cable company. I find that the pages on Astromart load in less than 3 seconds when I am logged in or even not logged in.
