All Sky Mirror

Noticed the picture today on spaceweather.com was taken with an all-sky mirror.
Does anyone else use one of these. What size mirror. Seems that a stainless steel mirror would be good if a heater was put under it. Acrylic would be cheaper. I've tried the baby moon hubcap method but couldn't find one bigger than about 10 inches and the surface quality was very poor for this application.

This one has been percolating for a while and was out a few nights ago(the bugs are the worst lately). Been workin' on it for a few years off n' on. It's an old 12.5" f/8 Coulter (1971) mirror on a modified Meade DS16 mount on a 10" dia AP standard pier.
The pier has a special removable setup (I call 'em "slippers") for the 10" tires.
Probably will put a ToUcam on it once in a while to keep me off a tall ladder.

Seems that this clause in the tos is routinely trampled on.
cn runs the same ads, same item, same pics.
Best advice is always buy thru Astromart.
I bought an item on cn and got lied to and cheated by a respected
cn user. Never got all my $ back. He's here on Amart too but I can't rate him.
Never again. Got what I deserved.

Does anyone here know if the solar Ha scope described
on Dave Groski's Solar Page has been built by an

Well you can use it for astrophotography right now but red sensitivity can be greatly improved by getting the camera modified. Hap Griffin modified my Canon 20d using his option 3B.
Never regretted it and you'll get the pics you want having it done. There are others that can do the mod or do it yourself but Hap has done a lot of mods and I haven't heard any complaints.
