I just completed my new Wheelie platform today and can't wait to show others.
It's hard to tell from the photo but it is the same color blue as the scope.

This platform works very well and is rock steady, I should have done this a long time ago.

I am going to the MASP and can'wait! Have been looking forward to this event all year. Will have my Video setup with me this year, hope to record some DSO's. Will arrive on Tuesday Oct.1st around noon, and staying till Sunday noon.

Well, I pulled out the Ol PST this morning to catch these two nice Prominences. Again using my Fuji S-3000 digital camera, 2x barlow, One single shot, Processed in PhotoShop 7.0.

Hello gang
Here on vacation in Navarre Beach, Fl near Pensacola, FL. Getting some much needed R&R.
I just happened to bring along my Coronado PST and caught a nice looping prom yesterday. I was able to take some snaps of it with my digital camera which I will post when I get back home this coming Saturday.
Hope some of you out there were able to image it because it was pretty large.
Going to take the PST down to the beach today, along with my tip cup to try to make some extra cash to help pay for this vacation,HA, HA!!

Thought I would share my latest images of Sunspot 904 with you all. I captured it this morning around 8:30am EST. I used my Meade electronic eyepiece to image the sun's surface, my other digital camers only will pick up the prominences on the sun's edge. So thought I would give the EEp a try.
It's really hard to photo a good still shot off of the TV from video but here it is. A little clean up in PS and "WALA"! Not to shabby.

Thought I would post my Solar Prominence picture of the Sun today for your viewing pleasure.
There's not much going on the Sun today, but I did manage to find this little guy.
I was using my ITE Pro video camera, it's like the Stellacam EX, a 3X barlow captured with K3CCD, Stacked in Registax, processed in Photo Shop.

Hello All
Well with the advent of the Web am now able to share my long lost video that I made back 1997 with you all.
I remembered recently that I had this Eclipse video footage laying around and thought I'd better get it transfered soon before it got to bad to view. Well it's almost 10 years to the day now and I just got it loaded onto YouTube.
Back in early 1997 I started preparing for this Lunar eclipse, I started to video the full Moon with my full size RCA camcorder attached to my Meade 10" LX-200 telescope like a month in advance.
Then once I had recorded the image of the full moon I could go back home and play with centering the moon image on my monitor screen. I outlined the moon with white electrical tape to give me a center mark so that way when the camcorder would begin recording the moon, it would always be centered in the frame,no wobble!. Because this was going to be a four hour event compressed into a eight minute film used a time lapse feature on the camcorder it had to be right! No second chances.
Well wouldn't you know it! When the time came for the eclipse I came down with a stomach bug that almost keep me from producing this film, so glad I didn't cave. Because if I my say so my self. It's pretty cool!!!
The other hard part was matching a piece of music that would have the same play time as the video. Well I looked and looked and looked and then finally found a cd called Holst the Planets and the fist piece call (Mars, the bringer of War) which fit perfect to the video

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy my Lunar Eclipse video from 10 year ago.
