Parks mounts

I have a Meade DS-10 on the original mount. The periodic error is so bad that I cannot "recover" quick enough when manually guiding while doing CCD work much less autoguide. The Parks Superior 1 1/2" seems to be the cheaper of the mounts out there. Has anyone have an idea if this is a good mount for CCD work with a 10" Newtonian? Joe.

Eclipse from Denver

This was taken at Chamberlin Observatory, Denver, CO at the Open House. I used my 10" f4.5 Newtonian, 56 mm Super Plossl eyepiece projection into my Minolta Dimage 7 camera. 5 sec exposure taken at 3:04 UT at mid-eclipse. Joe.

Veil nebula complex

Attached is an image of the veil nebula complex. This was done over 3 summers with a 10" and an 18" Newtonian telescopes, both f4.5. The east, west and central sections were mosaicked separately and then collaged on the TheSky6 map. Joe

Camera: ST 2000XM.
Exposure: 10, 10, 7, 10 CRGB respectively, all guiding manual.
Telescopes: JMI NGT-18 f4.5, Meade DS-10, f4.5 with Optic-craft drive and beefed-up mount with wooden rotating rings.

Okie-Tex Update-Wind damage

Saturday night to Tuesday nights the 16-19 Sept. were fairly good nights with Monday night the clearest. Last night was windy with clouds coming in shortly after dark. The wind shifted at 8:30 AM CDT, Thursday Sept 21 and caused a lot of damage to tents and scopes shocked . They had to take down the main tent using pick-up trucks assist with the lines. The party is still on till Sunday morning.
The image is from the west side of the canyon. Notice there are only a couple of tents still standing. Joe.

NGC5128 at TSP

Centaurus A taken Sunday night at TSP. Cloudy tonight, but I can do some quick processing.

Scope: JMI NGT-18 18" f4.5 Newtonian
Camera: SBIG ST-2000XM CCD
Exposure: 10,10,7,10 minute LRGB.
Transparancy: Good.
Seeing: Fair.

Comet 2006 VZ13

Here's an image of C/2006 VZ13. Taken with 10" f4.5 Newtonian with SBIG ST-2000XM ccd camera. 10,6,6,6 minute LRGB total exposures of 1 minute each. Taken on 7-15-07, 8:00 UT. Enjoy! smile

NGC7023 in Cepheus

This is a nice blue reflection nebula in Cepheus. This was taken at the WUTS star party in Wyoming.
18" f4.5 JMI Newtonian telescope with an SBIG ST_2000XM CCD camera. 10, 10, 7,10 minute LRGB exposures respectively. Dark skies, low background in images. Under a dryline at the time. Enjoy! 8)
