Does anyone know what the difference is between the #124 and 126 barlow lenses. I ordered a package deal from Discovery Channel Stores that came with the #124 and also ordered the #126 because that is what is recommended for the Meade ETXEC. I got the package deal beacause of the 18mm superwide angle eyepiece primarily, but also because it had the #124 barlow and a 5mm eyepiece.

Being new to the hobby as far as owning a telescope is concerned, I am building a pier and mounting plate for my etx125ec. The design is based on Dr. Clay Sherrod's pier and plate. Otherwise, no projects exist. I just wish the weather would improve so that I can use the scope. I bought it 1/6/04 and have only used about 3 hours. The weather has been too cold or cloudy and rain most of the time here in n. Alabama.

Hi all. The discoverer of Sedna is an astronomer from Huntsville, Alabama ( The Rocket City ). His name is Mike Brown and he is currently working for the California Institute of Technology. Distance is approx. 8 billion miles away. and the orbit takes 10,500 years. In 2002, he and his colleagues discovered an icy world called Quaoar. The ETX 125EC is the scope that comes with the AT. There is no difference in the scopes. The only difference is the EC does not come with the #497 controller and the AT does. Mike Weasners site is the best you will find when it comes to theses scopes. It is divided into several sections, so you can go to the one that interests you the most. Plus, the database goes back to 1996 if I am not mistaken. Loads of information and you will more than likely never read all of it.
