I am fairly new to amateur astromony but I own two telescopes. Both celestron. One firstscope 114EQ and one nexstar 114. The firstscope is nearly twice the length of the nexstar but the focal length is shorter. Why.

Anyone interested in starting an astronomy club in Butte county CA?

I have 2 Celestron 114mm reflectors. A Firstscope and a Nexstar which I dont get a chance to use very often. Since I usualy look at planets or the moon I am thinking of getting a 90 or 120mm refractor. My question is does one design or the other have an advantage when dealing with light pollution?
