New Telescope

I just got my new Skyquest 10XT Dob yesterday. I'm used to a 4.5" reflector, and I have to admit ( It's BIG ). Anyway does anybody know any good fixes to make the mount easier to slew. I'm new to the hobby, and really don't know what to try. I've loosened the bolt on the bottom of the base. However the movement is still tight, Will adding more teflon help?

Televue 35mm Panoptics

Just curious about my most recent purchase of a 35 mm Televue Panoptic Eyepiece. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with being sharp on the edges of the view. I use a 10 inch Orion Dob, and have had no problem with any other eyepiece being sharp on the edges. Just not really sure before I either take the eyepiece back or call Televue.

Barn Door Tracker

Hello all,
I'm curious about the barn door tracker, and would like to build one. I've been to a couple of really good sites on how, and what to build. I'm going to go with a double arm style tracker for best results. My question is on powering the unit. I have tons of stepper motors, but am wondering if there is a more modern way of tracking...( Without all of the headaches) Any suggestions would be great.

Stepper Motors

Hello All
Being new to the hobbie, and love to tinker. Question for all. How many uses are there for Astronomy for the stepper motor. I've come into a whole bunch, and would like to use them.
