Early bird egistration for the 2010 Midwest Astro-Imaging Conference (MWAIC) and Mac Astronomy Workshop (MAW) is now open. This great two-day conference will take place on July 23-24, 2010 just outside of Chicago.

We are excited to announce the addition of a one-day, pre-conference workshop conducted by renowned imager Adam Block. It will take place on Thursday, July 22, 2010. Due to capacity of the tiered classroom used for the one-day workshop, registration is limited to the first 50 attendees.

Just a few highlights of the 2-day conference:
* Alan Friedman will provide his planetary imaging workflow using Astro IIDC, Keith’s Image Stacker and Photoshop.
* Ken Crawford will share his 6 filter narrowband imaging technique.
* Bob Piatek’s ‘Top 10 Ways to Guide’ presentation will provide attendees with guidance.
* Alan Erickson, Senior Software Engineer at Adobe, will return for the 3rd year and provide the inside look at Photoshop’s features that are relevant to astrophotographers.
* Adam Block will share some advanced Photoshop image processing techniques that help him produce APOD quality images.
* PixInsight users, or those interested in getting started with it, will learn its unique interface from Sander Pool who has authored numerous tutorials on the software.

Adam Block Workshop

You still have time to register for a special, one-day, pre-conference workshop conducted by renowned imager Adam Block. It will take place on Thursday, July 22, 2010 and is sponsored by AstroPhoto Insight Magazine.

Adam Block's four-day "Making Every Pixel Count" workshops demonstrate tools and techniques that improve proficiency in processing astronomical CCD images. In this one-day program, he will highlight critical ideas and choices that cover both fundamental data reduction in CCDWare's CCDStack as well as artistic considerations when using Adobe Photoshop. Many of these techniques address typical issues such as gradients, stellar artifacts, smoothing, and handling "weird" data.

Adam is also speaking at the Midwest Astro-Imaging Conference on the following Saturday (see previous post).
