Purchasing a TV-102 and mount

Posted By Michael Israel

I've decided to buy a TV-102 and Gibraltar mount. Is anyone aware whether dealers ever put these items on sale or would give a discount if I bought them together? If so, what dealers have you found to be reliable? Thanks for any info!

Thousand Oaks Dew Heater?

Posted By Michael Israel

Does anyone have experience with the Thousand Oaks Digital Dew Heater? I'm thinking of getting one but haven't seen any reviews or comments about it. Thanks!

M31 Pic

Posted By Michael Israel

I imaged M31 last week under hot and hazy conditions, with a Canon Digital Rebel (unmod) and TV NP101. Exposure: 14x120s, 1x180s, ISO 1600. Processed in IP. I'm fairly happy with the results and with the knowledge it will only get better this fall with cooler weather and M31 at a higher altitude.

Double Cluster

Posted By Michael Israel

Another image from my vacation imaging frenzy. The Double Cluster in Perseus, taken with a Canon Digital Rebel and TV NP101. Exposure: 5x60s, ISO 800. Processed in IP. I've admired many of the images posted on this forum and thought it was about time I shared some of my own--this and the M31 image for starters.

Robert, your M33 and M20 images are fantastic! What kind of mount did you use and were the shots guided?

Beautiful shot Greg! Did you use a wedge and guide the shot, or just altaz piggyback with adjustment for rotation in the processing?
