Orion 80mm ED and Coronado 60mm SolarMax?

Hi all,

In three weeks, I am traveling to a remote destination mainly for observing. I was planning to bring my Pronto and Coronado 60mm H-alpha solar filter. I just learned that there is now an Orion 80mm ED at the place -- not quite up to Pronto standards, but saves me a lot of weight.

I wondered if inexpensive adapters exist for mounting the Coronado 60mm filter on an Orion 80mm ED telescope. If not, could somebody at least tell me if the front of the telescope tube is threaded, and what the diameter is. Thanks.

Pronto on Orion SkyView Pro

Does anybody here know how to mount a TeleVue Pronto on a SkyView Pro mount? I just received the mount, and am very happy with it for the Pronto. My mounting is a cludge, though. I use the SkyView 1/4-20 tripod adapter, and screw it into one hole in the Pronto mounting plate. This works, but even after incorporating a spacer, the telescope wants to rotate on the single screw.

Is there such a thing as a mounting accessory that is sold just for mounting TeleVue scopes on the Orion mount? Thanks.

Mounting Pronto on Orion Skyview Pro?

Hi all,

Does anybody here use a Pronto on a Skyview Pro mount? I just received the mount, and am very happy with it for the Pronto. My mounting system is a cludge, though, using the 1/4-20 tripod adapter.

Is there such a thing as a mounting accessory specifically suited for the TeleVue dovetail/ring system on the Pronto (and others)? Thanks.

EZ Finder II: Mounting on Pronto

Hi all, another mounting question. I just received an Orion EZ Finder II, and now need to mount it on my Pronto. The dovetail base on Orion's site does not look like it will fit properly on my tube ring. Does TeleVue sell this accessory? Is there another way of mounting it? Thanks.

TV101 on Skyview Pro?

I have recently been offered a great deal for a TV101. I'm currently using a Pronto on a SkyView Pro mount, which is more than enough mount for that little scope.

Is anybody here using the TV101 on a SkyView Pro mount? Do you find it to be adequate? Which adapters will I need to mount the TV 101 to it? Thanks.
