Hi -- I have a Tak Teegul with the Lapides modification. Does anyone know how the two parts of this (wonderful) mount are attached to each other? E.g. does the top portion twist off, with the black cylindrical connector (about 3" dia x 1") then bolted to the other portion? (I have no intention of diassembling the mechanisms within each portion, BTW) Thanks -- Michael

Hi -- The folks who make D-K, e.g. Takahashi, produce excellent quality optics (compared to the major name brands). There is no corrector so cooldown can be a bit faster, though correspondingly the mirror can get dusty but no corrector to clean. No need for a dew shield on a D-K. Focal length typically a bit longer. Hope this helps -- Michael
