Posted By kim pham

hi all,

this is a picture of a mother quail and her young ones i took in july of this year at montana de oro state park. the focus is a little off on the birds unfortunately - otherwise i think this would have made a great image.

taken with a s1 is - i dont know how to pull image specs bc i cant install the camera software on this computer. sad cropped with fireworks mx 2004 - otherwise no other post processing.

mutts!!

One of my mother's patients literally shoved these two guys into her trunk after getting her to admit they were cute.

Since my mother has brought these two home, she reports my brother is much nicer to her, and a lot happier in general.

Although they do not look like it, they are both from the same litter.

lurker no more!! (maybe)

I am going to be in the market soon for a SLR suitable for birding photography; I am considering buying a Canon ELAN-7 but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for models within the same class or price range. I do not want to go digital (yet), partly because I do not have the money and partly because I think film is still a worthy medium. Also, the less money spent on the body, the more that can be spent on lenses (until the cost of film and development catch up).

Another question I have is, what kind of specs should I look for? i.e. how fast should AF speeds be, what is a good drive mode speed, etc? Thanks!!

One last question - can anyone recommend a good birding forum? I've tried birdforum.net - it looks like its primarily a UK based site, and consequently, most of the classifieds are based in the UK. Thanks!1

M33 Pinwheel Galaxy

Posted By kim pham

peter -

i think the detail on this photo is pretty good; i did a comparison with a like image shot with a digital rebel sometime last week and i found yours to be superior in terms of color and detail. i am not sure if it was this pinwheel galaxy shot however.
