Meade Autostar & Comet Machholz

Posted By kathy cordrey

My husband and son bought me my first REAL telescope for Christmas, a Meade ETX90. Although a bit dissapointed with only one eyepiece included, I'm having a lot of fun with it. My problem is I want to enter Comet Machholz into the autostar, but I'm a real amateur and can't figure out all the info its asking me to enter in order for the autostar to find the comet for me. Which brings me to the embarressing question: Where the heck is this comet? I get all the sky charts etc., go out with the binocs, the scope, dark places, but I can't find it! HELP

Meade etx90 and lens

Posted By kathy cordrey

Most of you probably know that the only lens included with the Meade etx 90 is the 26mm. I would like to add to this but would first like some advise on which lens should come next. I was thinking a barlow. Maybe one of you out there could give me some suggestions and if possible a list starting with the most important. Also is it best to stick with 'Meade' or are other brands OK? Is there another brand with as good or better quality yet more reasonably priced? Again my thanks to all! Kathy
