Hello people, i need help! I bought recently a mak scope and i`m having some dificulties on choosing the right eyepieces for it! My main interest is the planets but, i also like other objects like nebulas, galaxies, etc! I know that the long focus of this mak is not the apropriate for the galaxies kind of objects but,my finances wont alow me to have more than one scope ( infortunally )! So what should i by? Thanks! Moisture

Posted By Emanuel Chacim

Ei guys, i wonder if you can give me some tips for solving a problem that i have: as some of you already know, i bought recently a mk66 deluxe maksutov wich i used together with a eq5 mount; the problem is that the place were i live as a heavy night humidity percentage, around 80% or more, and despite the mak has a dewshield included, on some nights that`s not enough :S ! What should i use? Another extension to the shield? A heater?
Thanks, Emanuel

New scope

Posted By Emanuel Chacim

Hey people, how´s everybody? 8)Cool? well, today i would like some help for buying me a new scope, but i dont want no apo, fluorite or ed ! nooooo sir, not for me! for several reasons: for example they are cheap, ugly and they have a very bad quality! eh eh eh ! What i really want is a good old fashioned achromat! In my coutry,Portugal, astronomy is really awakening in every aspects! Just to give you an idea of that, some 15 years ago, to buy a 90mm achromat refractor, through a foto shop you would spend about $1500!!!! 15 years ago!! incredible, isn´t it? But, like i said, today that scope cost about $300!And now, we have several astro clubs, we have governments iniciatives to promote astronomy, and, the most important we have importers, some official, some second dealers, for the best scopes on the planet: takahashi, tmb, tele vue,astro-physics,williams-optics,meade,orion,orion optics from england,vixen,celestron,skywatcher,intes,intes-micro,etc.Besides that, you can buy any scope in a credit mode, wich makes things easier for you( in the end you pay more, i now!) So, considering all this testment, what in your opinion would be a good choice , with a medium focal length, and a good relation price/quality scope for me? Thanks,Emanuel

Hey guys, how are you? I need some advise about something: I bought recently a mak scope, an Intes Mk 66 deluxe ota and i`m looking now for a mount to it; i´m specially an observer, but maybe, in the future, i get interested for astrofotography, so the mount should be according to that! What would you suggest? Thanks, Emanuel.

New camera

Posted By Emanuel Chacim

Hey guys, how are you? Good? I am a rookie in astrofotography, i have an Intes maksutov mk66 deluxe mounted on the CG-5 Celestron mount, and i`m looking for a camera to begin astrofotography! The thing is that since i have a home pc and not a portable one, i cannot have a webcam, therefor i was wondering if a digital camera, type a Sony cybershot or something alike would be possible to attach the scope! I would prefer digital due to facility on uploading the fotos to the computer and process them! can you help me? Cheers, Emanuel

Celestron polar finder

Posted By Emanuel Chacim

Hey guys, can you help me? I`ve just bought a polar finder for my CG-5 mount but the finder won´t stay very good atached to the holder due to having only one point to hold it( with 3 screws)! So , when ever you touch the finder,it goes out of collimation! Is there any trick to avoid this or i`m not doing things right? THanks,Emanuel
