Meade 390 & Canon 20D

Posted By Dan Coppola

Hi,

I have a Meade 390 Telescope and a Canon 20D. What components do I need to attach my camera and eyepieces to my telescope? I would like to use my eyepieces along with my camera for that extra magnification.

Thanks for any help with this.

Dan

Hi,

I am looking to finally upgrade from my old Meade 390.

I am looking at the Meade 8" LX90. Does anyone own this or have any comments about it?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

How to focus a Canon 20D DSLR?

Posted By Dan Coppola

ok...my question is simple...I hope.

I recently purchased a Variable-Projection Camera Adapter and a T-Mount for my Meade Tele and Canon 20D. My question is, since the 20D does not offer an LCD to see what I am photographing, only a typical SLR view finder, how do I know if the subject is in focus if I cant see anything? Or how do I even know if the subjest is still even in the eyepiece, which most of the time it is not. Is there a trick or procedure I am missing? Or do I have to keep moving the scope around and hope I get lucky in finding the subject again by shapping pictures? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks to everyone on here for their help on getting me started. I know this is not a great shot compared to others, but it was my first attempt with my old Meade 390 and my Canon 20D.

Thanks for looking,
Dan

How to focus a Canon 20D DSLR?

Posted By Dan Coppola

I want to thank everyone for their input, I guess it will just take a lot of practice. I was able to pull out my scope and camera today and practice in day light on street objects. I had much better success then last night in the dark. I should have done this before attempting night shots, this helped me get to know my scope and camera a little better.
