Kestrel

A beautiful bird that wanted to hang around and pose but the Humingbirds and Mockingbirds were not having any of it.

Geckos

This guy was skittish. I managed to take the picture right before he darted into a hole.

I had a couple subjects pose for me in Sedona.

This is a Grant's Rhinoceros Beetle. I found this guy lumbering across a rock outside of some stores. He was over 2 inches long and about an inch wide.

A double Iridium flare.

Posted By Chris Palmer

This is my first astro shot with my 20Da. We had an amazing double Iridium flare a couple weeks ago. They were about 7 sec. apart, parallel, and heading north. They ended even with Polaris (bright star at the end of the dimmer flare. Unfortunately there was a very bright full moon that just came up and illuminated the hills just below which made for some very bad sky glow.

Canon 20Da; 24-70 f2.8 @ 24mm; ISO 400, 49 sec exposure @ f4; tripod; and remote timer. Noise reduction was turned off.

Red Tailed Hawk

I was able to get approximately 20 feet from the base of the tree that it was on.

Squirrel

A chatty squirell. I almost had a nice close up of him. He was about 10 feet away, but I couldn't switch lens fast enough.
