M8 with 12" NEWT

Hello,

This shot was done with a 12" f/~2.4 newtonian and ST-237A CCD camera, exposure time is 300 sec. This is my second try with this neat camera. What proccessing can you suggest me to do in order to increase the nebula details?

Moon images with a 12" Newtonian

Hello,

I've put a few shots I took with an 12" f/5.3 newtonian + 2X barlow and a Philips web camera.
The process is very minimal; only slight sharpen changes. All the shots has been taken from the Bareket
observatory in Israel by Ido Bareket.

Sun shots - Ido.

I've put couple of shots I took with an 4" f/10 Celestron refractor, thousand oaks type 2' sun filter and a Philips web camera. It was taken at the 01.11.03 at 13:30PM local time.
the shot has been taken from the Bareket observatory in Israel by Ido Bareket. In the last image a 2X barlow was used. I especially love the twisted shape at the last shot, at the bottom right of the sun. The seeing was horrible, a lot of humidity and a thin layer of dust stays during and after the shots was taken, but they actually came out better than I expected.

My humble Roll-off

Hello,

I thought to share with you me roll-off observatory experience.
The observatory is located in Israel and it is about 320cmX250cm in size. The roof is made from 2 aluminum layers and an isolated material in between.
The roof is currently opend by hand-not a hard job, and moves on an 'C' type track which secured by wheels from the sides so it can't move to the sides or up at all.
It is very isolated and the temperature inside the observatory is kept almost identically.The structure is remarkably solid.

I hope that this post helped to others even a little in order to build their private observatory.

JUPITER PROCCESSING assistance

Hello,

I recentlly shot jupiter.
I used my 12" f/5.3 newt with 5X TV powermate and philips web cam pro. The exposure time is 1/25sec, 10fps, 5% gain.
I've tried proccess the result I got with minor success so I ask for an assistance on how to get the most from this pic.
It is a stack of 151 frames. The atmosphire condition was abot 6/10.
Is this a good/great/poor result consider my equipment? How would you proccess this shot? Do you have a simmilar results from the same/simmilar aperture OTA?

Venus transit - MAX exposure length???

Hello,

I intend to capture the Venus transit with a 4" f/10 refractor at 1.14arc sec'per pixel. What is the maximum AVI length I can take before I would see a "smeare" and Venus disk would become elonged? I need to know Venus angullar speed, if you can even give me this number it would be great.

Milky way+venus - 6x6 style

The following shots were made with Kiev60 medium format camera, 50mm f/2 lens and 400asa fuji film.

The milky way exposure duration was 45 minuts
The venus & Tau' exposure duration was 25 sec

All the shots were taken at the Ramon desert, Israel.
