Hi everyone,

First of all let me say that I have recently purchased a paramountME mount (15000 euros). A very big investment for me. Took me a few years to achieve this. Now its time to think of a telescope. My main interest I reckon will be in deep sky astrophotography with ccd. I currently have my eye on a Takahashi Mewlon 250. Its going to be another big financial investment for me so I'm quite nervous about making the decision. Any help would be gratly appreciated.

Hello all,

I'm in the market for a telescope and was recenty looking at russian design scopes which I am told are the best designs. My main interest would be in ccd astrophotography and was recently looking at the astrisib 360, a 14" RC. However, I recently found that Orion Optics(UK) do a 14" Mak-Cass (Im told is based on Klevtsov design) thats much cheaper and much closer to home. Has anybody out there any ideas as to the quality of the Orion or would I be wiser to stick with the astrosib.
