Polar alignment, Vixen GP mount

Posted By David Held

Can anyone tell me how to use the polar scope on a GP mount?
there is a standard RA ring, then a inner ring that is divided in 12 then under sections 12 & 1 on the same ring
reads E 20 10 0 10 20 W . Then etched on the scope is an

offset circle for Polaris. up to now I have been just guessing about where the pole is from polaris but I would like to know how to set these ring's to the date and time for
polar alignment.

you can E-mail any info to me at [email protected]
THANKS Dave

Even with the full moon in Gemini I saw a lot of fireballs.
With the forcast so grim I had forgot about the Geminids and
was not looking for them. It was chance that I saw about 3
fireballs in 10 min. Really They could not have been missed
Did any one get a better count?
