As long as you're getting rid of it next year, you may want to consider stuffing the legs with foam packing popcorn if they are hollow. Adds no weight and dampens ringing some what. That's what I did with my Vixen GP.

Don't have the Semi-Apo, but I do use the Fringe Killer with good results on my Stellarvue AT1010 80mm achromat. To give you an example of performance, it reduced the diameter of blue haze around Saturn by a factor of 2 allowing me to snag a close in satellite that was invisible without the filter.
