Hello everyone. I just got into telescopes and bought my first this week. Not even here yet and im hooked.
I bought a etx 90 from amazon and was curious about the auto star feature. If I decided to upgrade to a larger size scope, would I be able to rig the exsisting auto star controller to work with a larger scope?

I understand motors are designed to handle torque loads and I guess Im wondering what the biggest size tube these motors could ever handle.

As a follow up question, has anyone ever tried to use the autostar and make their own motor assembly to work with larger scopes as well.

I have my own CCD camera so I have no need to buy meades. (I guess?) So where can I buy just the software for color imaging. Seems the only way to get it is to buy the camera bundles.

My ETX 90 is just not strong enough for piggy back mounting. What is the next logical and economical choice for a motorized mount?
