Mead with UHTC

Posted By Ben DeGroat

Every summer I take my 10"LX200GPS camping to enjoy the dark sky's. This year was pretty windy though and my luck ran out on not getting anything a the front lens (correcting plate). My question is the UHTC coating on the inside or outside of the lens and what do I need to clean it with. Usually I just get a little dust and use air but thats not going to cut it this time. THANKS for any help!

what to do need some advice

Posted By Ben DeGroat

well to make a long story short my parents have been taking my daughter to church for the better part of 10 years now. I figured it wouldn't hurt her i had to do the same when i was a kid. We were given the option to believe in what we wanted know question ask then and now, but when i went to pick her up from a function the other day the teacher was talking to them about how god formed the universe !ouch! So she told the teacher that we had a big telescope (10"lx200 gps uhtc)that we look at the sky with. Well he talked her into asking me to bring it up so others can per into the heavens. Now me daughter knows how I feel about this but at the same time thinks it's cool that they want to look threw it. So do i just keep my mouth shut or do i try to quietly educate them the truth. I know this is a touchy subject but any advice would be appreciated sorry for the long story i tried making short lol.

Well thanks for all the advice everyone. You all confirmed what my wife said except she was a little more blunt "suck it up and go show them what an amazing place it is". tonight was the night they wanted me to come up and if you live in the st.louis area you know it wasn't the best of nights but they did get to see jupiter and a few stars. All in all it went really good and a surprising amount of them wanted to keep viewing and were amazed at jupiters mini solar system. so i'm happy to say it all went well and maybe there be a few more astronomers after tonight. again thanks!!
