It has been in the bottom corner for a while and now they have knocked 19% off their Intellicope dobs w/object locator. Does this mean that the pyrex mirrors reserved for these dobs are going to a Orion designed collapsable truss style with push to goto??
I would assume that they would keep selling their XT classics.

I just came in from observing and while emptying the truck I pinched the fatty part of my left hand in the door and dropped my eyepiece case.
While scanning down the list of forums I was suprised to notice that there was activity here.
Being the proud owner of Chinese scopes I stopped in.
It seems I now have a choice.
1) Go back out and get my right hand.
2) Don't bother looking next time.

You got to go to the Hubble site and look at their latest release of Andromada images!!! Unfortunatly for me it is like looking through a window rather then at a window. I will get around to looking at the subject matter of the images later. There are thousands of galaxys hidden behind it!!! Thousands!!!
It's like the Hubble deep field back there!

If you do not already have one, go down to your local garage and ask to borrow a ordinary torque wrench. Set it up on their concrete floor and then go out side and do it on the grass. For just the tripod, use one of the leg attachment bolts. For the complete setup, use a piece of threaded rod bent at 90 deg's attached to the hole in the top of the rings and lock nutted to keep it from turning. Turn it so you can measure the force between the legs, with the legs, and the most dangerous of all, with the tube and counter weights between the legs. It is amazing how fast they can fall with the wrong combination.

All the other versions were nice but this one makes you want to crank it up to 400X and go WOW.

The best way to get oddball parts is to go to places like the Astro Parts Outlet.
They have helped me in the past. Prices are reasonable considering their non-availability from dealers.
