I recently ordered a promotioanly DVD from Obsession Telescopes (starting to plan the purchase of some big aperture). The envelope contained a 'Spring Update' that had some startling news. I quote, "Corning is closing their Pyrex factory this fall. There will be no more Pyrex mirror blanks. Alternate suppliers of borosilicate glass (Pyrex) charge alot more. Exprect considerable price increases in the future. Large apertures will be hit the hardest."

Has anyone else heard of this? If so, can anyone speculate what kind of price increase consumers would be facing?

I just purchased a 2" GSO 30mm Superview and my focuser does not have enough inward travel to bring objects into focus. I am using this on an 8" f/6 Sky-Watcher dob. I am using the rack and pinion focuser that came with the telescope. Is there anything I can do to correct this, short of purchasing a new focuser? Thanks in advance.
