EQ4 worth it?

Have an opportunity to purchase an EQ4 (EQ5/CG5) for $140, NIB. Would be using it for an ST80. Probably overkill. This is the old-style version with rectangular, not newer round tripod legs. Does this seem like a decent deal? I know the EQ4 was a mystery mount; just wondering if this would be OK for visual astronomy, perhaps limited AP in the future.

Pin polarity difference Meade vs. Celestron?

Hello,
Does anyone know if Meade and Celestron both use center-pin positive polarity when it comes to 12V cords (i.e. cigarette adaptors)? The Celestron does. I have a cord and I don't know if the center pin is positive or not. I got it from a local guy in a scope sale and he can't recall if it was from a Meade or Celestron. Do they share the same plug configuration?

The GSO plossls are a bargain IMHO. They cost peanuts, and if you're just starting out I think they'd be perfect.
