I have never looked for pluto, but I am told that it should be well within reach of my 10" scope. I know that it is impossible to see anything more than a point of light, but what should I expect to see when I look for it. Also, does anyone have any tips for finding it.

I would like to know everyone's opinion about the curent lawsuit between that Hawaiian group and NASA. For those who aren't familiar, these guys are up in arms on account of NASA's plans to add several outrigger telescopes for the Keck interferomiter. Claiming that NASA needs to release an invironmental impact statement.
What I find irksome about this is that this self same group approved NASA's proposal a few years back. They even found the lesser invironmental statement was sufficent. Suddenly, however, they changed their mind!

I am building a 90mm rich field scope to eventually use as a finder for my 20" (when I get enough saved up). I was wondering where to buy Aluminum tubing on the net that won't cost me an arm and a leg.
Also, I have read about the great light absorbing charicteristics of flocked paper and I wanted to line the tube with it (much less skill required than to make baffels). Where might I find some (again, preferably on the net).

I finally went out and tried for Pluto and I nailed the sucker.
The night before last, I located the field were pluto should have been and made a sketch. I already hade a suspect in mind --a ~14th magnitude blip that wasn't on Sky and Telescope's chart-- but just to be sure, I found the same field and sketched it again last night. Sure enough, my suspect had moved a couple of arcminutes.
I have finally seen all 9 planets.

I aquired a multi element lens system from a copier a while back. Could anyone tell me about sperical aberation for these systems? If it's possible, I'd like to make a rich field scope out of it (which would be used in the future for the finder of my forthcoming 20").

Where in the blazes can one get plate glass blanks. I am on a tight budget but I want to make something fairly large ~17-20" and therefore I can't really afford much other than plate (since my last post, I looked at BVC prices and still found them to be a tad stiff). I will first learn on a smaller mirror, say ~10", at a mirror making class taught by our local mirror making Guru, so I think that I should be able to work with a large slab of thin plate glass upon completion of this class. (I've already done a fair ammount of background reading on the subject)
