I'm further amazed at the huge numbers of people who oppose drilling in ANWR with no common sense rationale for opposing it. Look, 99.9999% of us are NEVER going to visit the roughly .0001% of the nearly impossible to get to anyway frozen arctic location where the drilling would take place. Its like the nuts that are concerned if we leave a candy wrapper's worth of debris to "litter" the surface of the moon. You gotta be kidding me! Litter the Moon, its OK, I ain't going there! DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW, PAY LESS! and for God's sake lets start pumping the billions of $$ we spend on oil back into our own economy instead of pumping it into the economies of our enemies.
