Spider Identity?

Posted By Joseph Doyle

Looks like a wolf spider. (At least that's what I've always called them)

They can get very big. 8O

Best non-televue eyepiece collections

Posted By Joseph Doyle

If money was not a concern, a complete set of TMB Supermonocentrics from 16mm down to the 4mm and the 1.8x ED barlow. I'd also want a Klee 2.8x. For lower magnification Siebert 24mm Ultra. For really low mag 2" 32mm and 40mm MK70 Konigs.

When money is a concern, pretty much what I have. HD Abbe Orthos in their full range, UO Volcano top abbe orthos for 4 and 25mm, Plossls by S. Farowski for 15/10 and 8, a 2.8x Klee Barlow and a 24mm Siebert Ultra and 32mm GSO Plossl.

Wide fields do nothing for me grin 8)

Dealing with eyepieces...

Posted By Joseph Doyle

I use a camera case I got on eBay for ~$30 and keep my eyepieces in bolt cases. Those eps which have a lense near the case get a cap on that end only. Eps with reccessed glass don't have or need caps.

Filters go in the end pouches.
It has a strap and goes over my shoulder, leaves both hands free for my TV-76 on a Voyager mount smile 8)

Where are all the CELESTRON users ??

Posted By Joseph Doyle

Well....I've had a 6" F/5 Celestron(Vixen) reflector for nearly 20 years now. I just had it out tonight on a newer CG-5 mount, tracking Saturn. Its still my "big aperture" scope. smile

Surplus Shed bought out the Wollensak stock and has a whole bunch of their eyepieces (and 2" Barlows) for sale.
