I'm trying to buy a C8 with a 1.25 back. Can you physically change this to a 2" port? I know you can go from the 1.25 to 2" say with a diagonal/adapter. I understand you my have an easier time of it viewing thru the 2" but you really aren't getting any more discriminatory/resolving light to your eyes that way are you? Assuming the same focal lengths and FOVs from your EP.

R am I confused again?

Is this a good scope? And is ECM the coatings on the lens? What is a good price for a OTA like this with avg cosmetics and good optics? Will a LXD75 hold this well with a Celestron 80ED spotter/guider? How about a LXD650? Or maybe a better question is what is the minimum mount to put these two OTAs on? Then add AP to that need? Thanks for all the help here.

Now I need a mount/tripod for it. I'm thinking nice GEM. Still thinking about doing AP sometime down the road but I'm getting a better idea how expensive it is going to be so I'm gonna have to slow down. I need to learn how to visually look at the sky anyway.

I have the Celestron 80ED and I will try to mount it on the Meade. I have a DS2000 mount on the way for it as well to play around with.

There is a LXD650 not far from me. And I can always get a CG-5, G8, G11, Atlas, or even CGE. I can't afford anything more. Actually I can't afford the G11 with goto and esp the CGE.

What are your thoughts?

I have the rings for the 80. What do I need to mount that on the Meade OTA?

Need to mount a Celestron 80ED-R to a Meade 10" SCT. I'm still looking for a mount/tripod for it all if anyone knows where I can get at least a medium and preferably a heavy mount/tripod. I also want to be able to mount the 80ED in a DS2000 on the way. I have the original clam shell mount on the ED but I know so little astronomy I don't know what kind of dovetail that is and how to adapt it to the SCT and the DS2000. I have some other tripods as well. One is a Meade and the other a Celestron. They came with the 114s. The Meade is a small goto.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I need an illuminated reticle EP. Never had one so I need some advice. First I see poorly. Perhaps I'm in the wrong hobby but I'm sticking for awhile. I'm trying to get 2" EPs or 2"/1.25" ones. I'm also trying to get quality EPs. Anyway I have an 80mm Mak-Cass (ETX) OTA I want to use as a finder and maybe even a guide scope on my 10" SCT. Is that practical? Or a good idea? It does have a built in flip mirror and backport. If so I'd like some advice on what kind and perhaps which one. I have a Meade LXD650 which has a reticle port. I'm not certain what the voltage output is though. It has an auxillary port as well but I believe its output is 12v. Any thoughts?

I am currently putting together a CCD camera from a SPC900NC Phillips webcam. I'm just waiting on another adapter to get here then the adventure begins with that project.'

However, I don't have a DSLR and I want to use one for AP as well. I want a used one primarily for AP but also terrestrial and just plain ole family pics, too. I want enough resolution to be happy in both worlds without going out and buying the best camera per brand out there.

I was thinking about 6megapixels or so but really where is the price break on say a Nikon or Canon camera for this?

What cameras do you recommend? What resolution? What bells and whistles? How to hook it up to the scope (a ten" SC and 80ED)?

I have a Van Slyke S2 slider, a Vixen 1.25" flip mirror, a Moonlite focuser and a few nice EPs to get started. Oh a Telextender and a Powermate and a VS 2X, couple of diagonals. That's about it. I do have a LXD650 which I'm starting to learn to use and like; all just to give you an idea of some support.

Unfortunately I don't have any experience and I'm still trying to get a good polar alignment down.

I still consider myself a newbie. I've just sold my older 10" SCT with EMC. Nothing wrong with it but I wanted sharper optics. I have a LXD650 which works fine and just got a CGE thinking I was going to a 11/12" OTA. Well the CGE is borderline heavy for me. I had no problems with getting the 10" Meade on the 650 with a Losmandy bar. I've already put hardware on the CGE dovetail for using a bar. To be honest I don't see a lot of difference between the 650 and the CGE although the CGE clearly will handle a loaded SCT better esp for AP.

Is a Celestron 11" or Meade 12" a lot heavier than the 10" Meade SCT? I'm definitely not going to a 14". Would I be happy with a 9.25 optically? Am I going to see that much more with another inch or so of aperature. I have some lite light pollution at my home. I'm trying to begin AP but I emphasize early in it. Most is still visual.

I've considered a refractor but I'm going to learn more and then invest in a nice refractor later.

I've looked for a way to more accurately focus this scope and I don't know how to mate a two speed focuser to this tube. Is there anything I can do with this scope? It's only a problem for me at higher magnification but I'd like to get the most I can from it. I'm not quite ready to spend the money on a expensive refractor. I don't think I know enough yet.

New to AP and digital cameras. Have been all over the Fujifilm Finepix S1 Pro manual and cannot find a solution.

I thought this might be a familiar problem to AP. I can focus and shoot with the proper lens on. I cannot get shutter release even if on manual with or without a mounting ring

I have it on manual, etc. I'm sure I'm just not reading and comprehending properly but maybe you guys know the problem and its unique to AP.

Haven't been here in two years plus due to illness. Selling everything. I have searched but don't see a recently sold Astrophysics 6" f10 circe 85 or so to gauge price. Any help appreciated. I could also use some help with all the considerable rest which I will be placing on a spreadsheet in the next few weeks depending on how I feel. I would gladly pay someone to go over my things. Thanks.
