Pier-Tech piers

Posted By Richard Lowney

I have two Pier-Tech 2 piers. Personally I think they are the best accessory investment I have made. They are especially nice if you like to show others the wonders of the night sky. One I bought new and is observatory mounted and carries a CGE 14 easily. The other I bought used and I move it in and out of the garage and use it for a 130mm refractor. They are both excellent. I can detect no image shift when raising or lowering. They are quiet and at full height there is no easily detectable motion (slop) in either pier. They are very solid and not as heavy as you would think.

17 or 21 Ethos

Posted By Richard Lowney

I have used all the Ethos eyepeices above 10mm in my C-14 except the 21. I now have the 21 but my C-14 is down for mount replacement and optics cleaning. I will say the 17mm is a very nice eyepeice in the C-14 but for me so far I enjoy the views with the 31 Nagler the most. But that is me and I haven't tried the 21mm yet. I am really looking forward to the views it should provide.
