a hypos ethical question

Posted By Vaclav Novotny

8) This is a hypos ethical question just in case I come into some money (I wish)
I live in the outer suburbs, light pollution is not too bad and I can see 5mag stars
What would be the best telescope I could buy, up to $20000 for planetary observation and imaging from here

Advantage of using a 2" diagonal

Hi All
What is the advantage of using a 2" diagonal over a 1.25" diagonal in a 80mm F7.5 scope other than being able to use 2" eyepieces?

APPTURE FEVER

Posted By Vaclav Novotny

Hi All
I was looking into eye sensitive and found that a light or star has to be 2.5 approximately brighter than the reference to notice a difference this means a scope has to be
2.5 times bigger than your previous one to notice any difference that means if you start with a 60mm scope you would need a 100mm your next step up is 160mm then 250mm
I have a 100mm and was going to get a 127mm but it looks like I should be going for a 200mm to get some real change
Am I wrong ?
