Intane Optics "Beware" Do not buy!!!!Posted By Bobby Lindsey |
Bought BN 8" F9 OTA from a dealer with a 8" F9 Intane
achromatic optic. While I know the limitations of a
scope like this, I expect it to have excellent performance
within those limitations. Well this optic sucks as it suffers
from astigmatism that is seen at well below 100x, and they
state they will not replace it and send their apologies that
they know how I feel!! Are you kidding me!?!?!?
This was in the BN scope set up at NEAF, and I am the original owner.
I know other people with similar scopes that perform superbly and know what they are capable of. Their excuse was that they only guarantee 1/2 wave optics and that they never claimed their lenses "do not" have astigmatism.

Good choice! I have mine out right now, and it
is just fantastic! Seeing all the tiny blinkers
in the heart of the Orion Nebula with great contrast,
and have Saturn in the ep now and it is looking
good and will look superb later. Go-To's & tracking
are excellent! Hope you enjoy yours!!

They can be excellent scopes period, if you get
a well corrected one. Not apo, but it's a refractor!

I forgot to ad, I am being done right by the dealer, no problem there! Just the fact that I wanted this scope to be right, and they "Intane" totally refused and basically
