My first Mars this year-1:30AM. We southern boys don't do well at about freezing, but I had to do it. This is the first rough rough run throgh in Registax. 10"f/6 Newt with 5X powermate/ Toucam. Seeing was pretty awful. Computer was freezing up-I think it was.....freezing up! Had to put the hairdryer on it to get it working.

wierd volcano on the moon

Have seen this volcano-mons Gruithuisen-in the past and identified it in Ruckle's- has a drawing of this view on page 201 plate 28 and on map 9- Iis at the mouth of Mare Imbrium. But had a good view last night although the seeing was awful. Really wierd lookin'. 10" f/6 Newt with 3X barlow. Toucam. processed in Registax

Also I was surprised about the total solar irradiance. In the past I have read about the minor variations of only .1%, but in the UV and shorter wavelengths the variation can be a factor of 2 or more. The correlations with temperature look awfully good.

Light pollution limited exposures to only 3 minutes! FS 102 @f/6, 3minX10, moded XSI at 1600, unguided on my G11. Stacked in DSI, no flats or darks, then transferred to Registax 5, histogram streached and gamma curved, and only spent about 10 minutes processing!
