OIII filters & Narrow band and Canon DSLR

Posted By Aubrey Brickhouse

Hi gang, this is off the usual tracking questions and one that I have not heard discussed. Has anyone used OIII or SI filters in front of their Canon Color camera. Mine is Hap Griffin modified (500d) and gives a lot of Ha. I was wondering if the filters are helpful in bringing out more of the other colors?

Work Flow for Imaging processing

Posted By Aubrey Brickhouse

I have been imaging now for a couple of years and moved to processing with Photoshop and Maxim DL this year. The problem. I have Adam Block's "Making every Pixel count" and other tutorials and find myself sort of bouncing around and not necessarily following the most logical process. Does anyone have a good workflow process sheet that they would share to a fairly newbe??

Need for HA filter with Baader 2" RGB Planetarium

Posted By Aubrey Brickhouse

I have been imaging with the newer Baader 2" RGB Planetarium filters and have read in their brochure that
these filters capture the Ha and OIII data. The seem to give good RGB data but I am interested in the forum's opinion if
they think the addition of the HA and/or OIII filters are worth while. I have a 4 position filter wheel and if I need to
start adding HA I will have to go to another filter wheel. I am using the SBIG 8300M and the Orion filter wheel.

2nd image from this week, The Bubble and M52

Hi Floyd, this is a great image of the Bubble, etc. I noticed that you used 6 min. 2x2 binning instead of the same exposure of 10 min for Lum except for binning. Can you tell us the advantage of more shorter exposures versus less at same exposure length.

What do I do?
Do I sell it as is? Do I spruce it up Do I defork it or do I part it out?
I appreciate your advice.
Based on the current status of Meade being long out of business, I think the value is in the dismounted scope since any mount that can carry it will work and its cheaper to ship if needed.
