Can Astronomy Club's have an AM Account?

Posted By Tim Brown

This may not be a FAQ but this seems the place to ask. The Astronomy Club I belong to , at times, gets donations. Often we can use the items but other times not. If no one in the Club wants to buy these unneeded items they just get set aside and sit there. Can the Club get an AM Account [a Supporting one of course wink ] in order to sell these unneeded items to support the Club's financial needs? The Club is a legitimate "not for profit" organization per the State and Federal tax codes so I'm guessing it could choose the level of Support as would an individual(?). The Club does not have a PayPal account yet but would establish one if an AM Account is available. I have been with this Club for many years and with AM a long time as well so I was asked to look into this. Thanks! Tim

Buying Auctions via PayPal?

Posted By Tim Brown

Can I buy Starting Bid/Reserve Auctions via PayPal? When I click on Buy Auctions it takes me to a Credit card page which does say in bold print: Pay With Credit Card OR.... but clicking either of the 2 "Continue" buttons at the bottom just takes me to the Credit Card page again. I thought one of the Continue buttons might take me to the pay via PayPal page. Not a big deal really but I do prefer using PayPal.

thanks!

AM switch to new servers all well except.....

Posted By Tim Brown

.....this morning I received a response to an ad. When I hit my "Reply" button I noticed that my reply was being sent to "AstroMart Website" , not to the AM User. I tried it a few times...same thing. Ended up having to cut and paste the AM User's email address. -Tim

Unitron 3" collimation?

Posted By Tim Brown

Sounds like a push-pull cell, for collimation. Are the 6 screws on the face of the cell and in 3 pairs. Can you post a picture of the cell? Typically one screw of each pair is for adjustment, the other is a lock down screw.

I have a question....is a Unitron model 140 3" cell collimatable? It has 6 screws holding in the two elements. Three flat head ones and three allens. Can't figure out how they would work. Are there any instructions available if this is a collimatable cell? Anyone ever done this? Thanks, Gerry
