Low Profile Focuser Adjustment

Posted By Steve Salvo

Good Morning,

Here is the problem,

I have installed a low profile focuser and find that I need about 2 more inches of travel.

I realize I could purchase an extender. I would like to relocate the focuser to the other side of my sonotube. There is no room to move the primary mirror.

What is the minimum distance, provided that I moved the spider, that the spider can be from the front opening of the sonotube. I have a 16 inch newtonian. It currently is 7 inches.

Thanks
Steve

120mm Synta Refractor

Posted By Steve Salvo

I cannot get this refractor to focus. When I put a 2" or 1.25" diagonal on the refractor, and I completely retract the focuser tube forward so it is as close to the OTA tube as possible, it is still out of focus. It almost seems like the OTA tube is too long and needs to be shorted..... any ideas,
Thanks

Celestron 80ED focuser upgrade

Posted By Steve Salvo

Saw the threads on the focusing problem. My question - I have a Celestron 80ED. I have examined the focuser and I cannot see how to remove the focuser (lots of plastic covering). I would like to upgrade the current focuser. Any suggests on how to remove the focuser and on an after market focuser that will fit without "modifications"?

Thanks
Steve

Wyorock Adapter

Posted By Steve Salvo

Hoping someone has an idea! I currently have a Wyorock focuser. I just obtained an Orion 102FL Fluorite and I am looking for an adapter to mount the Wyorock focuser. I am told that Wyorock did make such an adapter. I have emailed Wyorock multiple times to no avail. There is no phone number. Anyone know of an alternative other than purchasing a new focuser, I really like the Wyorock brand.

Thanks
Steve

Looking for opinions, for those who upgraded your Focuser, was it worth it?? I am looking at getting the Moonlite.
Thoughts? Thanks...Steve
