Canon 60Da

Posted By Robert Harrison

I am looking at purchasing a 60Da. Anyone have experience with the unit on objects such as IC-434, M1, and M45?
I have a Televue 101, 102 and a Celestron 8 to try it with and reasonably dark skies.

Thanks
Mike

Dslr and temperature ?

Posted By Robert Harrison

I am quite new to DSLR astrophotography. Is there a low temperature point where you are reluctant to take you DSLR or computer out for extended time periods. I am curious about damage to the electronics and lcd screens.
I used to live in Alaska and would regularly take my Olympus OM 1 out at -25 F to -35 F to photograph auroras. The problem at those temps was the film becoming brittle and breaking. Especially where the film advance gear sprocket cutouts were located.
I have since relocated to Kentucky where it ocasionaly will go down to 0 F and I don't want to ruin a new DSLR.

Thanks
Mike
