focus travel

Posted By chris bator

Last night, I tried to perform a star test on my newly-acquired C102F. However, if I remove the diagonal, the focus tube is not long enough to achieve focus with high power eyepieces. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm thinking of purchasing TeleVue's digital setting circles
for my Gibralter mount. Does anyone have any experience with them? Specifically, ease of installation, ease of use, accuracy? Thanks.

I am thinking of purchasing a Kendrick laser collimator for my 8" SCT. Can anyone offer opinions about this device--pros and cons? Is it worth the investment? Thanks.

Powermate v. Barlow

I have a Celestron Ultima Barlow and was wondering if a TeleVue Powermate would show significant improvement. I use it on 24mm and higher power eyepieces. Thanks.

Need advice on a binoviewer

Posted By chris bator

I'm researching whether to purchase a binoviewer and the best one for my scopes. I have a C102F on a Gibralter mount and an 8" Ultima 2000. Critical balance is therefore an issue. Any suggestions on a binoviewer I could use with both scopes? Thanks.

clamshell for C102f

Posted By chris bator

I have a C102f that I mount on a TeleVue Gibralter Mount. I use the original mounting rings that came with the scope, but have to use them upside down becasue the tightening screws which are ordinarily on the bottom for mounting are too wide to fit in the cradle of the Gibralter. I would like to have a clamshell that would accomodate the C102f, but I understand the TeleVue 4" clamshell is not wide enought to accomodate the C102f. Does anyone know if anyone makes such a clamshell that would work? Thanks.

Ultima 2000 circuit board

I think I fried by circuit board as the slew motors no longer work. Anyone have any idea where I can, if at all, get a new circuit board? Thanks.

I live in a suburb 13 miles west of Cleveland. Around 10p.m. Thursday, the Milky Way was clearly visible, especially in Cygnus. Incredible!
