Which ccd

Posted By Jimmy Choy

Hi all. I'm new here and I'm looking to get a new ccd camera. I'm looking at the sbig st8-xme. I have a lx200r 10 inch with the fork mount on a wedge. I'm looking to image nebulas and galaxies. I also plan on getting into narrowband as well. What confuses me is one site will say that ccd can use the adaptive optics and another says it can't. Is the optics that good to drop a grand on it? I've got a lot more questions if you all don't mind helping me out here. I've been playing with the Meade dsi ii and I'm not that pleased with the low pixal count
Thanks in advance

narrowband filters

Posted By Jimmy Choy

I know this is sorta lame but what exactly is the difference between the narrowband filters when they say 3nm or 12nm? I figure they let in a certain amount of light per band. Should I start with a specific #nm?
I am about to start imaging with these filters and I am not sure which ones I should start with.
Thanks in advance
Jimmy
