France sold satellite phone frequencies to Iraq?

Heard this on the radio this morning. Supposedly, a french company sold satellite video phones to many of the reporters in the field in Iraq. At the same time they sold the frequency coding to Iraq enabling them to pinpoint where the reporters were calling from. If this is actually true, then strike 3 on France. What are these morons thinking?

Resale value of NS11's

This is probably a dumb question, however, worse have been asked..IMHO..

Why is it that I keep seeing more and more NS11's advertised on AM at 75% or less of retail price and rarely seeing any Meade's advertised for sale of similar size or focal length for sale at all. I don't want to start this stupid C vs M debate again....PLEASE...we've all seen enough of that. However, I really don't understand the disparity in resale value here. Yes, I own an NS11 but I also own a Meade 8" LX 200, so I'm not really biased here, just curious. Both are fantastic scopes and have their pluses and minuses and I'm keeping both. I'm just curious how these resale values are getting established.

Saw this on an unnamed auction site. I haven't seen this style. Does anyone know its origin? Claims it has 70* fov and is coming out of Canada? New Synta?

SCT Cooler for NS11 ?

Has anyone built one of these on their own? I've seen the ones from Lymax but $130 seems a little expensive. Found a plan on Mapug but not sure what the length for the tube should be for an NS11, showed 15" for the 10" LX. Anyone know how long it should be?

I think I must have a problem. I log into Astromart every morning at work and find myself constantly hitting the refresh button to see what's new for sale. The problem is I really don't "NEED" anything at this time. In fact, I've got an 8" LX200 that has set in it's storage case for over a year ever since I got an NS11. Just can't seem to part with it and you never know when some great accessory might come up for sale.

I'm up to step 1 - I've admitted I have a problem. Hi I'm Brian, I'm an Astromart-aholic, I have Excessive Compulsory Accesory Disorder.

However, the rest of the steps elude me.

What's a person to do !!! Buy more stuff?

Small aperature refractors? I don't get it?

I don't want to start a flame here. However, I seriously don't understand the love for small aperature refractors. I honestly want to know. Why would I buy a TV85 for instance instead of a 125/127 MAK at 3X the price?

I'm wanting to purchase a grab and go that I can use to view planets and the brighter dso's. Sometimes the NS11 is just too much to set up for a 1 hr viewing session. With all of the hype about the 80ED's, the TV 85's, etc I honestly don't know what to do. I have a ST102 celestron and quite frankly it's worthless for planetary viewing.

Any constructive advise and insights would be appreciated.

Celestron C130 vs Orion 127 Mak?

Looking for something I can grab on the fly and look at the planets or moon. does anyone know anything about the C130, can't seem to find much on it. I used to have the Orion and liked it very much, should have never sold it. sad
