I recently acquired a Lomo Astele 133.5 Mak and am embarking on a learning experience of disassembling/cleaning/collimating. I've looked for info on these scopes online, but have only found a few threads.

Does anyone know a good/knowledgeable resource on these scopes?

My first question popped up after took off the back cover to reveal the collimation screws. There are three sets of two - one round-head screw which appears to be bottomed out and painted over, and another which looks like it's had some use. Are one of these a push/pull for adjustment and the other a mounting screw? Doesn't seem to allow for "locking" the collimation. Does anyone know how to use these screws?

Hi all,

I recently bought a Portaball that needs to be shipped. It’s the newer 8”/5.5 version. The seller inherited it and doesn’t know much about it. Does anyone have setup instructions for a portaball, or tips to pack for shipping? I’m assuming the mirror/cell should ship in its own box, the ball in a second and cage in a third?
