Classified real estate ad removed

Posted By Thomas Smith

I placed a real estate ad in April. It ran until early July and for some reason was removed.
Is there a term limit for ads?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the great reply. I've used Astromart mainly for purchases and wasn't familiar with the options related to real estate ads. I appreciate you making me aware of these. I did look at observatories but didn't find many ads that had real estate with observatories included. In my case I think the land and it's location is the more important part of what I was selling.

I'll take your advise and post the ad again, this time paying more attention to the options.

Thanks again for your help,
Tom

I guess I'm not quite there on relisting my ad. It won't allow me to copy and paste the ad text so I attempted to link my home page to the text part of the ad. I'm trying to keep from retyping the entire ad text.

I'm retired so I guess I have the time to retype it, I'm just lazy.  :<wink

Yeah, they let you type the ad manually, a URL link or a image. I couldn't get the URL to work.

Well, I finally gave up on the ad text and just manually requested viewers to PM me for additional information.
I guess I need to step into the 21 century but it seems to me that a copy and paste option wouldn't be
all that difficult to program into the new software.

Hi Keith,
You were spot on with the control "C" control "V" recommendation! Thanks a bunch.

I went so far as to set up a .com site for myself and use the URL but it didn't work.

I really appreciate you taking the time to help bring a old timer into the 21th century.

Thanks again,
Tom

I plan on being in the area the first week in September.  I’d like to take you up on the wine. Where are you located?

We are having a star party in the Pie Town area Oct 5-7 and I’ll also be there for that. It would be great if you could attend. I have a observatory overlooking the star party site and would enjoy your company during the event.

New ad

Posted By Thomas Smith

I would like to place a ad and get this error message when trying to do the description:

Your browser doesn't support direct access to the clipboard. Please use the Ctrl+X/C/V keyboard shortcuts instead.

I was trying to copy and paste a word document. I tried the Ctrl+X/C/V but couldn't get that to work. The description is rather lengthy and would much prefer not having to retype it.

What do I need to do here?

Thanks

I

Paramount ME problem

Posted By Thomas Smith

I am using a Paramount ME mount with The Sky X Pro software. Recently I was observing the moon with my C-14 and found I had to adjust the with the paddle to better center the moon. All seemed to be good and the tracking was perfect. I wanted to move the scope to a different part of the moon and had to manually guide the mount to the different location. The mount seemed to respond for a few seconds. It then tracked way off the object, shut down and disconnected.

I re-established connection but had to re-home the telescope before I could re-connect. I did this several times with the same result.

I then discovered I had gone over the viewing limits (operator error - not by much but I did cross the line). I was surprised the mount would acquire the object and track perfectly until I tried a second paddle input.

Is this to be expected given I had crossed the line a minimum amount?
I posed this question on the other site and got no feedback on this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Paramount ME problem

Posted By Thomas Smith

This happened again last night and I was on the correct side of the telescope limits. Same issue after skewing to an object, after a few minutes of perfect tracking I moved the scope with the paddle, the mount took off away from the object, stopped and then disconnected. I homed the mount, went back to the object and didn’t have any additional issues even after moving the scope with the paddle to force the problem again.

I suspected a cable related communication issue. I’m about 15’ from the warm room where the computers are located, so i tried moving the cable set in hopes of forcing the problem to surface, but no luck.

I’m back to first base trying to get this issue resolved prior to driving back to Houston (17 hour drive one way).

Thanks for listening to my trouble.
Clear skies,
Tom

Is there a problem with my ad??

Posted By Thomas Smith

Ad # 569174 has been in the "not accepted status for awhile. If there is a problem with it, please tell me what infraction I have made so it can be corrected. Otherwise tell me it won't be accepted so I can pull it and not be logging into Astromart several times a day to check on it.

Thanks
