A Recent H-alpha image

Hi Eric. I took your image into PS and adjusted curves and applied some moderate gaussian blur using the select color range tool as when stretching the image I noticed it becoming quite noisy. Lemme say that I think this object is difficult to image. Well it was for me anyway but of course I'm only a beginner imager. I got a few hours of data on it last month with similar results as yours. I think maybe since you are using a very narrow HA filter that it could use at least 6 hours of data to smooth out the noise. It also appears that either focus was a bit soft or the seeing was bad. Maybe try to get more data on it your next time out. I wouldnt be too discouraged about it. Vince

very nice! Its amazing to me how I can get such different results from the same data when I reprocess just a few months later. All in the learning curve I guess.....Vince

Thanks for the kind comments guys. The RGB processing is alot more challenging than I expected. Its interesting that if you stare at an image with messed up color long enough, it starts to look good to your eye. Then you walk away from the screen and when you come back....WHOA! how did it get that messed up?? 8O
