Hi all,I am something of a newbie imager, around 4 monthes of experience now between a DSLR and a ST-2000xcm I purchased a little while back.I have admired a lot of great shots that have gone through this forum, you have all kept me inspired to get better grin

Here is my best shot so far.Taken with the ST-2000xcm and a Stellarvue SV80s at F12. 8O
A total of around 19 minutes.

Hi all,
Its been a long time since I have posted anything due too a long streak of lousy weather and time constraints.
I did get out Sunday for a little bit before I had to call it a night because of dew.
This is first light for my Tec 140 and G-11 grin
45 minutes total,20 minutes,10 minutes and three 5 minute shots at f 5.6 with a
ST-2000xcm.Processed in Images Plus.
This really needs a lot more time but I am pretty happy with it.
I am impressed with how well the G-11 guides.

Thanks for looking,Jason

The Bubble

Posted By Jason Boyce

Hi all,
After seeing the great bubble images lately I decided to give it a go myself last night.
Three 30 minute subs and a five minute just for good measure grin
I think I missed focus a little so I am somewhat dissapointed with the final result.Tec140 at F7 with a ST-2000xcm.
Thanks for looking,
Jason

Please help

Posted By Jason Boyce

Hi all,
Last night I had a great night shooting,I shot 66 subs of three objects!
Here is the problem I have ran into.I acquired in ccdsoft and saved as fits like I always do and then open in ccdops for some hot pixel removal. At this point I usually open in Images Plus for calibration and processing.

On all my subs from last night when I try to open in IP I get an error message saying can not open fits image, may be non standard compressed image cwy
I have tried to resave an image as a fits and still get the same message.
If I convert to Tiff or SBIG format I can open in IP.
When I try to convert a TIFF or SBIG to a fit in IP I get an error, can not convert message :S
I can open all my other fit files in IP except those from last night so I think it is the writing of the files that is the problem, though I am not sure.
I have installed Photoshop CS2 since last time I shot, other than that all is the same.

I sure would like to open these as fits files for calibration in IP.
If you have a solution or suggestion I would be grateful for the help smile

Thanks,Jason

Hi all,
Here is one of the images I took last time out.
I still have not figured out why I cannot get my fits images to open so what I did was darks in ccdops and then converted all my files to tiffs.
My eyes now look like this 8O
My camera/scope/reducer combo really doesnt do this object justice but I thought I would give it a try grin
Let me know how this displays,it is the first image I processed in photoshop.

Hi everyone,
Here is another from Friday night.
This is 20 3 minute subs processed as a tiff in IP with DDP
with some curves, levels and sharpening in photoshop.
I thought I would be able to get more out of this but I cant keep the core from blowing out if I stretch it any farther.

Tec140 at f5.6...edit,I actually shot this at f7
ST2000xcm
G-11
