Assume the following...
- TOA 130 OTA now (and C14 later)
- 90% imaging and 10% visual
- 90% traveling-to-dark-sky-site, 10% backyard narrowband imaging.

Which mount would you prefer: ap900 or ap1200?

Why?

thanks

Jeff,

Having an FS152 and a C-14, I selected the AP900 instead of the AP1200. The AP900 has sufficient capacity, is more easily portable, and costs less. I have a late model C-14 that weighs in at 43 lbs. With imaging equipment, finder scope, telrad, etc. it weighs about 48 lbs. I can let you know in a few weeks whether I made the correct choice as the AP900 was just shipped to me from AP. I have been using a G-11/Gemini for these scopes without any problem. So I figured the AP900 would work fine.
