Hi Group
Can any Traveler owner share with me a good method of coupling a Coronado etalon to the Traveler
I use a spare Traveler cap and I have built in a thread-on adapter to this cap to mount the (pre) filter
Trouble is, as Traveler owners know, one can never be sure if the Sliding dewcap is perfectly parallel to the optical axis of the telescope either when fully extended, fully retracted, or anywhere in-between. Because it is a sliding fit and because there is felt like material in there, the perfect alignment of the Ha filter and the optical axis of the scope is never guaranteed. I frequently notice that tweaking gives better results, meaning that some misalignment has occurred, yet again since my last tweaking, sigh.... My Traveler is the only refractor that will allow me to binoview in Ha light. Disappointingly a Pronto I bought as a dedicated Ha for my 60mm Coronado cannot be used with a binoviewer at low powers without barlowing
Anybody have a way around this?
